GREMSY COLLABORATES WITH NOKIA ON NEXT-GEN 5G DRONE-AS-FIRST-RESPONDER (DFR) TECHNOLOGIES

Detroit, MI, United States - May - Gremsy, a global leader in advanced camera payloads and imaging systems, today announced a strategic collaboration with Nokia to develop next-generation connected drone technologies. The partnership aims to redefine Drone-as-First-Responder (DFR) capabilities for U.S. public safety agencies and international markets through the convergence of advanced imaging, autonomous operations, and 5G connectivity.

The collaboration centers on the integration of Gremsy’s ORUS L — a high-performance EO/IR dual-sensor payload - into Nokia’s 5G-enabled drone ecosystem. Together, the companies are developing a unified telepresence platform that allows command center operators to remotely deploy and control drones with real-time situational awareness and ultra-low-latency communications.

The Integrated Ecosystem:

  • Precision Imaging (Gremsy): The ORUS L payload leverages industry-leading stabilization to ensure jitter-free, high-definition visual data, even during high-speed maneuvers, pursuits, or low-light operations.
  • Connectivity Backbone (Nokia): Utilizing Nokia Drone Networks and its docking station, the system provides ultra-wide bandwidth and near-zero latency (<20ms) for real-time 4K video transmission and command execution.
  •  Tactical Coordination: Through the CommandCentral ecosystem and CAPE software, agencies can automate flight paths and utilize AI-driven analytics for smarter, faster tactical decision-making.

“An open payload ecosystem complements Nokia Drone Networks, enabling our customers to access best‑in‑class solutions. With industry‑recognized partners like Gremsy and Motorola, we’re confident that together we can deliver spearheading solutions based on AI‑driven analytics for public safety, critical infrastructure, and industrial automation.- Thomas Eder, Head of Embedded Wireless, Nokia.

“This collaboration is a definitive step toward mission-critical autonomy,” said Jay Huynh, Chief Commercial Officer at Gremsy. “By integrating the ORUS L into this world-class ecosystem, we are delivering a high-precision intelligence hub, not just a drone. This milestone also reflects Gremsy's evolution from a gimbal manufacturer to a provider of multi-domain autonomous solutions-spanning UAVs, UGVs, and maritime platforms.”

This partnership builds on more than a year of R&D collaboration between Gremsy and Nokia, focused on advancing 4G/5G-connected UAV technologies for mission-critical operations. It also represents a major milestone in Gremsy’s long-term strategy to expand into telecommunications infrastructure, smart city deployments, and autonomous operational systems globally.

The collaboration further highlights the growing capabilities of Vietnamese engineering talent in the fields of robotics, imaging systems, and autonomous technologies. As Gremsy continues to evolve beyond traditional UAV payload systems, the company is actively expanding research and development efforts toward imaging stabilization and operational intelligence solutions for unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and maritime platforms, including USVs and ROVs.

Together, Gremsy and Nokia aim to shape the future of connected autonomous operations - where advanced imaging, AI-enabled analytics, and resilient 5G infrastructure converge to improve public safety, infrastructure resilience, and emergency response capabilities worldwide.
